Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: * Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and related mechanical equipment * Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis initially in a support role and later as a project lead * Perform calculations, engineering analysis, computer analyses and simulations and technical reporting * Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery and mechanical systems * Provide technical findings and conclusions in layman's terms, both verbally and in writing * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies * Regular and predictable physical presence in the office * Long term goal to become testifying expert Position Requirements: * B.S in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's Degree preferred * Eligible within 24 months for P. E. registration through testing * Two years of post-academic engineering work experience preferred * Vehicular knowledge is required * Passion for and interest in vehicles * NHTSA, Forensic, Racing or Vehicle Safety background is a plus * Strong written and oral communication skills * Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must * Computer aided drawing skills is a plus * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills * Public speaking experience is a plus Physical Requirements: * Ability to travel 35% of the time * Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site * Ability to lift 50 lbs * Ability to drive to site locations * Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues * Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site Benefits: * Extensive forensic training * Medical coverage * Dental & vision coverage * 401(k) with company match * Paid vacation, sick days and holidays * Company-paid STD, LTD and life insurance * Tuition Reimbursement Program * Bonus Program SEA places a strong value and priority on diversity, equity and inclusion across the company.
