REQUIRED: Ph.D. in biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical biology, molecular biology or a related field; at least two years of post-undergraduate hands-on experience with handling and care of mice; experience with the design and development of in vivo toxicity, pharmacokinetic, and biodistribution studies; expertise with data analysis and statistics using GraphPad Prism or similar software; excellent communication skills; and willingness to work part of a team and mentor junior colleagues. PREFERRED: experience with IVIS and/or PET imaging and drug delivery approaches; and expertise with molecular/cell biology techniques, tissue analysis, and immunoassays. Job #24242 7/22/24 POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Chemistry-Pentelute Lab, to lead and design all live animal studies performed in the research group. Position involves the design, planning, and execution of in vivo studies to characterize lead therapeutic candidates primarily in mice models. The studies include determining tolerated dose, pharmacokinetics, half-life and biodistribution, and disease-specific models including work with transgenic mice strains. Will train and assist colleagues with the execution of all in vivo experiments required by the lab's research projects; act as the primary contact for all aspects of the preparation, review and approval processes for the group's animal protocols; the development of specific in vitro or cell-based assays to characterize bioactivity of peptide or small-molecule lead therapeutic candidates; proactively evaluate new technologies and implement new in vivo evaluation methods to advance peptide-based drug discovery efforts in mice and rats; and train lab members on the new methods developed.
