Summary: Assists guests in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment. Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and to provide a safe and healthy aquatic environment for hotel guests. Maintains cleanliness of pool deck area and provides excellent guest service. Handles any emergencies as appropriate. Essential Functions: * Maintains supervision of the pool, ensuring the safety of the pool area * Appropriately addresses any issues, concerns, or guest violations with guests * Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies * Enforces all facility rules and regulations * Maintains a clean and attractive pool environment * Reports any unsafe conditions to the pool manager or lead lifeguard * Performs on poolside stage with games and activities for guests * Monitors fitness center as needed * Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications/Requirements: * One to three months of related experience or training preferred * Excellent guest service skills * Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal * Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations * Ability to effectively communicate in both one on one and group settings Required Work Cards * CPR and First-Aid certification * Lifeguard certification Physical Requirements * Frequently walk, stand or stoop (over 75% of the time) * Ability to walk and/or run on slippery surfaces (over 75% of the time) * Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
