CUMULUS MEDIA| Reno, NV is looking for a dynamic FULL TIME Morning News Anchor/Reporter. News/Talk 780 KOH is the heritage news and information radio station for Northern Nevada and the surrounding area. We are seeking someone who is a local-first news leader aka NEWS JUNKIE who understands story selection, the power of audio and nat sound and the ability to grab the listener with compelling, fast-paced storytelling. We need someone who knows what breaking news is, how to respond to it and most importantly how to make our coverage shine during it! We are a fully staffed newsroom with all the tools you'll need. Now we just need you to report for it. It's a very high-profile position that could include substitute hosting on our dynamic morning news show, and some TV appearances with our local TV station partner. Social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, etc are a must). In addition to your regular anchor shift, you must also be willing to hit the street and report. Responsibilities include producing and delivering newscasts that generate ratings by being entertaining, informative, community oriented and forwarding the brand. As an ambassador for Cumulus, participation in station and client events/remotes, connecting with the community and our listeners, building a relationship with clients through the sales team and networking within the market are paramount. Candidates must have unparalleled passion, worth ethic and drive. Key Responsibilities: * Producing compelling newscasts by using creativity, imagination and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting on-air content * Connect with listeners via phones, social, video, web and on-site * Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation * Participates in station Programming, Promotions, and Sales meetings and events as requested or required * Live Broadcasts and station appearances, whether paid of unpaid * Handles emergency news/weather in show; on call for weather disasters/breaking news * Ensures logged commercials, promotions, sweepers and any other programming element essential to the station's operations are aired Job Requirements: To upload your air-check, please paste the audio file into a Word document and save with name format Lastname.Audio and upload as part of your application by selecting "Include a cover letter".
