Department Number/Name: 0-5830-007 / Child and Family Studies, Rightpath Research and Innovation Center College Division: Academic Affairs-College of Behavioral and Community Sciences Salary Plan: Faculty (9 month) Job Code/Title: 9002 / Assistant/Associate Professor Position Description The Department of Child and Family Studies in the University of South Florida, College of Behavioral and Community Sciences is seeking an Assistant-Associate Professor to join its Rightpath Research and Innovation Center. Rightpath faculty employ cutting edge research methods to develop, evaluate, and disseminate tools, strategies, and programs that elevate developmental and academic outcomes of vulnerable children. With a focus on prevention, Rightpath faculty work to improve achievement in young children who are at risk of poor outcomes due to limited English language proficiency, being members of low socioeconomic status families or communities, unequal access to quality educational programming, or with communication, learning, behavioral, or intellectual delays or disabilities. This is a tenure-earning/tenured9-month appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Consideration to hire with tenure upon employment will be given to those who meet the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences tenure and promotion guidelines. The position will include both research and teaching. The role will include responsibilities for research and securing external grant funding, mentoring and advising graduate students, teaching, and university, community, and professional service. The successful applicants must meet University of South Florida criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, including holding a doctoral degree from an accredited institution, experience in research and grant writing, and experience in university teaching. This position will be part of the USF Tampa Campus. Minimum Qualifications: * Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a social or behavioral sciences related field by the time of appointment * Meet the university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor * A minimum of two published or in press articles in peer-reviewed journals Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working on large-scale federal research grants * Experience with grant writing * PI or Co-PI on a funded grant or contract * Evidence of a research focus on children (early childhood; K-8) experiencing societal factors that put them at risk for poor developmental or learning outcomes * Evidence of an early career record of scholarly activity * Teaching experience with graduate students * Teaching experience with undergraduate students * Experience with diverse populations (research, teaching, service) * Interdisciplinary research experience Criteria for the evaluation of candidates To ensure the fair and equitable evaluation of all candidates, the following criteria will be used in reviewing the applicants' qualifications.
