Job Summary: During the process of developing new products, our customers come to Boyd with specifications and requirements for the overall manufacture and assembly of their products. Working as part of a team with Design Engineers, manufacturing and quality personnel, the CAD Designers job is to analyze all input, and using computerized modeling applications, create product models, proofs, CAM files, and manufacturing drawings of the assembly and all interior components, meeting corporate, departmental and industry standards. These tasks require a good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing concepts. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Interact with a variety of BOYD teams on projects to ensure collaboration and thoroughly review design input to determine product requirements. * Create product models in CAD applications, resolving design issues for functionality and manufacturability. * Create product proof for customer approval using CAD applications per customer design and the engineer's instructions. * Create manufacturing drawings, CAM files, circuitry films/files, and other manufacturing materials required for production, per departmental, corporate, and industry procedures and standards. * Review membrane circuit film/data for proper scaling with approved measuring devise and visually inspect for correct circuit layout and setup to ensure successful manufacturability. * File save data files and drawings within Product Data Management environment to ensure security, version integrity, and availability of data. * Log project progress utilizing Project Management tools to maintain a record of critical dates, issues, and successes. * Revise project CAD models, drawings, CAM files, and films per Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to bring projects up to current design requirements. * Assist Design Engineer's with layout and design as requested. * Perform other CAD duties as requested.
