Help Duties The Information Technology Project Manager performs the following duties: * Provides administrative and technical expertise to support multiple projects and to coordinates and integrates studies and projects designed to develop, analyze and evaluate major agency/center systems, policies, programs, functions, processes and activities that impact agency mission. * Directs and coordinates multi-part initiatives across various project stakeholders. * Plans and establishes long-range program goals, objectives, milestones and measurement criteria for delivering innovative Information Technology(IT) solutions, which are complicated by rapidly changing technology and the need for input and participation of other analysts and subject matter experts. * Interfaces with infrastructure and data center contractor staff in IT engineering areas such as IT Service Directory, Cloud and hosting services, data centers, wide area data networking, Local Area Networking, virtual computing, storage area networking, security, and information risk and business resilience. * Keeps abreast of state-of-the art technological advancements and innovative approaches to IT solutions. * When conflicts occur, determines agency priorities and recommend or implement appropriate policies. AND Specialized Experience GS-14: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as: 1. Plans work to be performed by team members, sets and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for the completion of work based on priorities, selective considerations of difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of the team members. 2. Consults with customers regarding their requirements and ensures customers are involved at all stages from requirements, design, development and testing, through to the evaluation of the project outcome. 3. Budget formulation and tracking. 4. Systems/hardware/software design and modification to manage the development of computer-based applications for scientific and managerial programs. 5. Coordinates procurement of IT goods and services. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
