Under the direction of the Director of Instructional design and Digital Learning, the E-learning and Digital Content Coordinator provides expert pedagogical and technical guidance in the design/redesign and delivery of online and web-enhanced courses by introducing and applying best practices in eLearning pedagogies, researching and employing new tools and technologies to aid teaching and learning and providing training and resources for instructors and students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Design and develop engaging instructional materials, including e-learning courses, videos, job aids, and other multimedia assets. * Apply adult learning theory, and best practices to create effective and interactive learning experiences. * Use authoring tools and multimedia software to develop and edit content. * Maintain and update training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance. * Conduct regular LMS audits to track and measure learning across the College. * Guide faculty through the design and development process including writing learning objectives and course outlines, script development, assessment and assignment creation. * Develops and manages process for testing and security of new features, tools, and LTIs that integrate into the LMS - including managing requisitions, facilitating and educating vendors, security of LTIs, communication of new features, and accessibility testing/evaluation. * Establish and maintain relationships with our 24/7 Canvas support, academic technology vendors, associated departments, and the academic technology team. * Provides help resources and support for students, faculty, and staff including documentation, tier 2 support, and technical training and consultation. * Research and evaluate new pedagogies in eLearning; to adapt new practices that would facilitate the improvement of existing online courses and programs. * Participate in the adoption of new platform and learning tools functionality. Provide support in the testing and assessment of new technology solutions. * Assist with supporting eLearning initiative and implement technical and pedagogical training for faculty and staff; deliver workshops and webinars on technology best practices; develop and support self-paced training modules using badges and competencies for effective use of technology used at RCC. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology/ instructional Design or closely related field; with five (5) years' experience and/or training that includes Educational Technology, academic computing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. * Experience with Learning Management Systems is required. Knowledge and application of skills in instructional design theory, principles, and practices is required. * Ability to demonstrate the requisite knowledge and skill using a variety of authoring technology tools and new and emerging technologies, i.e., MS Office, Web 2.0 tools and CSS and HTML. * Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design principles, learning theory, and educational technologies in the design and development of learning experiences. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong problem-solving skills. * Strong commitment to customer service. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: * Familiarity with SCORM and other e-learning standards is preferred. * Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus. * Knowledge of PC hardware, Mac hardware, operating systems, Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), desktop and web publishing software. * Experience working with copyright and intellectual property; * Experience using and supporting accessible technologies; knowledge of online learning regulatory and compliance agency requirements including, ADA, Section 508 compliance, FERPA, and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to online learning.
