GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Legislative Service Office (LSO), the nonpartisan staff of the Wyoming Legislature, is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as a Legislative Part-Time Intern Coordinator. This role is ideal for a civics/government high school teacher with a strong background in civics education or an individual with undergraduate political science teaching. The coordinator will oversee high school and college interns during the legislative session, ensuring a comprehensive and educational experience. Duration: 8 Weeks (Legislative Session) and as needed during the interim ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every job function. * Intern Oversight: Supervise and mentor high school and college interns throughout the legislative session. * Curriculum Development: Create and implement a curriculum that educates interns about the legislative process. * Daily Management: Manage day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the interns. * Educational Guidance: Provide educational sessions and resources to help interns understand legislative procedures and processes. * Program Coordination: Coordinate with legislative staff and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and productive internship program. * Performance Evaluation: Assess intern performance and provide constructive feedback. Qualifications EDUCATION: * High school or middle school civics/government teacher with a strong background in civics education. • * Excellent organizational and management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • * Ability to work in a non-partisan environment. • * Experience in curriculum development and educational program management is preferred.
