We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Environmental Inspector with C3/C5 certification to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience working with a governmental agency (MTA, NYCHA, DEP, etc) The Environmental Inspector will be responsible for assessing compliance with environmental regulations, conducting inspections, and providing technical guidance to ensure the protection of public health and the environment. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of facilities, sites, and operations to evaluate compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including C3/C5 requirements. * Review and analyze environmental documentation, including permits, reports, and compliance records to ensure adherence to environmental standards and policies. * Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, and providing recommendations for corrective actions. * Collaborate with government agencies, stakeholders, and industry representatives to address environmental compliance issues. * Educate and advise facility operators and stakeholders on best practices for environmental management and compliance. * Participate in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring programs and initiatives. * Keep current with evolving environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure high standards of compliance and environmental stewardship. * Assist in training and mentoring junior staff in environmental inspection procedures and regulatory requirements. * Respond to and investigate environmental complaints and incidents, collecting samples and evidence as necessary. * Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, incidents, and communication. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. * Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an environmental inspector or in a related role within a governmental agency. * Certification: C3/C5 certification is required. * Knowledge: Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations, as well as compliance inspection protocols. * Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively. * Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment, software, and data analysis techniques. * Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including governmental bodies, stakeholders, and the public. * Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct field inspections, which may require walking long distances, climbing, or working in various environmental conditions. Additional Information: * A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed. * Ability to work flexible hours, including potential evenings or weekends, to accommodate inspections or emergencies.
