Job Description Description SAIC has an opening for a Mathematician for Missile Test Support in Crane, IN. Responsibilities and Roles: * Provide Mathematical Analysis support for Missile Battery Testing * Create test procedures for testing all types of missile battery systems, plan and execute the test procedures, collect and evaluate the data, and provide the results and conclusions to support various battery designs for all applications, including new prototypes and developmental energy systems * Tests shall be generally aging and surveillance, lot acceptance, qualification, and special engineering tests * Plans and procedures shall be in accordance with DoD requirements Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Physics or Mathematics and 0 years of experience. * Strong foundation in mathematics and physics, alongside valuable lab experience * Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player * Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills * Candidates should have strong written and oral communications abilities * Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and common office software applications is required SKILLS: * Analytical Problem-Solving Skills * Computer Skills * Knowledge of Business and Finance * Communication and Interpersonal Skills * Mathematics & Statistics * Wolfram Mathematica * Problem-solving skills * Python * Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel * Brazilian Jiu Jitsu KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Receives assignments in the form of specific tasks for the work to be completed. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions. IMPACT: Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs LIAISON: Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group. CLEARANCE: * Interim Secret required to start work on the contract * Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance * U.S. citizenship required SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
