Role description: As the GIS Analyst you will collect, verify and edit GIS data sets to provide mapping services and technical research analysis related to geographical data sets using software applications Role accountabilities: * Design, develop and maintain data sets by using current ESRI Geographic Information Systems Software (ArcGIS), related ArcGIS desktop applications and SQL server and oracle database platforms to present data visualization * Administer geographic data development, verification, management and quality control/assurance * Aid and provide technical support to staff in other government agencies related to the exchange of shared GIS data * Develop sustainable systems of collecting and managing data points * Develop and maintain data layers to provide information on geographic features * Provide GIS technical reports to stakeholders and responds to inquiries related to District GIS datasets and GIS issues * Attend meetings, conference, workshops and trainings to remain current on principles, practices and new developments related to GIS * Coordinate with appropriate city, county, state and federal agencies to obtain GIS spatial data sets and database. * Performs other related tasks required. Qualifications & Experience: * Minimum three (3) years professional technical experience using updated versions of ArcGIS in a GIS or cartographic setting in geography, education, engineering or urban planning field including developing and maintaining geodatabase platforms * Proficiency in current versions of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related computer software such s ArcGIS, ArcEditor, ArcMap, ArcReader, ArcGIS Spatial Analysis, Maplex, ArcGIS Explorer, ArcIMS and ArcServer * Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, mathematics or any related field. * Candidates without a degree may compensate with experience on a year for year basis Why Arcadis? We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
