Immediate need for a talented Senior Mechanical Designer. This is a 12+ months contract ( possibility to extend) opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Atlanta, GA(Onsite). Key Responsibilities: * Lead design on a variety of projects pertaining to governmental, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and other clients ranging from facility modifications to new facilities. * Quality review PFDs and P&IDs from verbal or written description from the design engineer. * Quality review basic formulas, principles and practices, and use acquired knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices pertaining to the mechanical discipline. * Lead drawing, planning, development, and production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. * Evaluate designs or sketches and redlines or mark-Client on ongoing projects for quality assurance. * Approve reports, drawings, and tests to plan and lead design projects to meet deliverables. * Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements. * Lead production of design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines. * Compute calculations for layouts, equipment, and schematics under the direction of the engineer. * Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into mechanical design and layouts for project financial goals. * Responsible for the quality review of all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner. * Train, mentor, and develop less experienced drafting, detailing and design staff members. * Participate in marketing and client development meetings. * Responsible for the mechanical design QA/QC process. Key Requirements and Technology Experience: * Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field and thirteen years related experience or associate's degree and fourteen years related experience or fifteen years progressive detailing and design experience. * Expert understanding of design software such as: Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and MicroStation to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs. * Expert understanding of planning, managing, organizing, setup, documenting, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across diverse project teams. * Experience with training team members, establishing BIM standards, and implementing BIM best practices. * Expert ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings. * Expert knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems. * Expert knowledge in the theory and practices of assigned discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks. * Work collaboratively with others including, but not limited to clients, Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives. * Excellent written & verbal communication skills. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
