As a qualified candidate you will have at least 5 years of prior experience in Human Resources and full cycle recruiting, with exceptional skills in employee relations and high ethical standards. You should be very organized and detail-oriented with a passion for excellence and high quality work. Strong proficiency in MS office and general HRIS/ATS systems is also expected. This position is located onsite and will function as an independent contributor. It is salaried, and includes full benefits, an annual bonus and will work Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm, with occasional extended hours, as business needs require. Travel is minimal. General responsibilities: As the Human Resources Manager, you are responsible for supporting the employee life cycle including recruiting and staffing of assigned locations. You will also serve as the HR leader at the local level, fostering a trusting, open door culture. As a brand ambassador for the company, you will work closely with your plant management team to assess staffing needs, source talent locally and hire the best qualified individuals. Additional HR responsibilities include employee relations, employee development, HR administrative tasks, and supporting organizational change management. As the HR Manager you will work with the larger Fortis HR team, plant management and regional management, to create and sustain a positive employee experience throughout the employee life cycle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR related concerns. Support employees and managers to increase positive interactions and communication. Support and coach managers on handling employee relations concerns. Position HR as a resource to managers. Foster a trusting, open-door environment with managers and employees, both in and outside of assigned plant(s). * Manage the requisition approval process and post approved jobs via the company ATS. * Manage posted jobs, review, and vet new applicants. Correspond with job applicants daily and arrange interviews with hiring managers. * Manage the interview pipeline, tracking candidates within the pipeline, to fill job openings within the standard time-to-fill guideline. Partner with plant management team to facilitate job offers. * Conduct new hire orientations (NHO) for all newly hired employees, and coordinate training with the hiring manager and other trainers, to ensure a successful employee onboarding experience. * Collaborate with HR leadership as needed to request additional sourcing support, job sponsorship, or job description updates as necessary. Serve as the main point of contact with local temp agencies to support plant staffing objectives. * Work with plant leadership to manage plant workforce tracking and training documentation, including maintenance of the production staffing smartsheet and documentation of employee training and development. * Collaborate with Fortis Payroll and Benefits team to address employee payroll and benefit concerns. Complete regular data entry into employee data systems (Paycom, smartsheet) to ensure benefits and other payroll related tasks are completed accurately and timely. * Facilitate and support organizational change management initiatives and processes. * Champion an Employee Resource Group at assigned plants to create employee morale building activities including One Fortis Day activities. Participate in activities while encouraging employee involvement and leader support. * Facilitate and monitor employee leave of absences including communication to leaders and employee as needed and monitoring return to work. * Facilitate offboarding with all terminated employees, ensuring all rules and regulations are followed. * Ensure compliance with state mandated training. * Handle workers' compensation claims. Keep the OSHA logs for assigned facilities. Collaborate with the safety team at assigned facilities. * Maintain personnel files in accordance with best practices and legal requirements. * Utilize the HRIS reporting system to run regular reports to support managers in various areas including time keeping and attendance management, overtime and headcount analysis, and performance management. * Use a good working knowledge of state and federal law and HR best practices to collaborate across the HR team on company-wide challenges or initiatives. * Additional duties as necessary. Qualifications Requirements: Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related discipline required. * At least 5 years progressive HR experience required, including experience in full cycle recruiting. * HR Certification highly desired. * Experience in manufacturing or related industry with more than 100 employees strongly preferred. * Bi-lingual in English and Spanish highly preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Experience with web-based business applications including HRIS, ATS and other HR systems. * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. * Must have high integrity to deal with confidential information daily. * High attention to detail and ability to learn and adapt to changing compliance and regulations. * Ability to prioritize and be proactive in completion of duties. * Strong problem-solving abilities. * Able to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions and lead others within the organization to make informed decisions. * Able to collaborate effectively by phone and email with others within the organization. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None. Training Requirements: * Must desire to continue to learn as it relates to changing HR systems, processes, and compliance regulations. * Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned. Physical Demands: * Must be able to perform routine, repetitive office functions. * Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening. Work Environment: * Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment. * Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures. Personal Protective Equipment: * None. Travel: * Travel will occasionally be required, up to 10% annually.
