Job Summary Collaborates with marketing managers, University Information Technology Services (UITS) web team, content creators, and leads a team of skilled webmasters. Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the webmaster team, ensuring seamless coordination of multiple ongoing projects. Instrumental in optimizing web pages, ensures pages are user-friendly, visually captivating, and maintain a strong presence in search engine results. Additionally, oversees the webmaster ticketing system to guarantee timely task completion and quality control, meticulously tracks and reports team productivity, and provides invaluable analytics insights to elevate our online presence. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides leadership, guidance, and performance management to a team of webmasters, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment 2. Oversees the planning, building, execution, and completion of web-related projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and timelines 3. Supervises the creation, maintenance, and optimization of websites, ensuring they meet design and functionality standards 4. Coordinates the creation and management of web content, ensuring it is accurate, relevant, and up to date 5. Stays informed about emerging web technologies, trends, and best practices 6. Provides technical guidance to the team and make decisions on technology adoption 7. Works closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, content creators, and UITS, to ensure seamless integration of web initiatives with overall business strategies 8. Monitors website performance metrics and analytics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance user experience 9. Fosters the professional growth of webmasters through training programs, skill development initiatives, and performance reviews 10. Prioritizes and implement strategies to enhance the overall user experience on websites, improving usability and accessibility 11. Facilitates effective communication within the team, department leadership, and with stakeholders 12. Provides regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes 13. Addresses and resolve technical issues, bugs, and other challenges that may arise during website development and maintenance 14. Implements quality assurance processes to ensure that websites meet established standards and are free of errors 15. Oversees and manages the webmaster ticketing system ensuring tickets are completed on time and correctly 16. Regularly provides reporting on SEO performance metrics, adjusting strategies based on data-driven insights to achieve desired search engine ranking goals 17. Provides regular reporting on webmaster productivity, project updates, ticket system, and website analytics Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computing, Marketing, Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or another data-driven field. Required Experience Five (5) years of related experience in website management including supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Preferred Experience Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Experience working in higher education Web and SEO experience in the higher education industry, information technology, computer science, or related field OmniUpdate CMS experience Previous SEO experience in optimizing web and campaign performance in search results Previous experience utilizing Google Analytics advanced analytics, Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Asana or other project management systems. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIES Capable of developing and managing a team of direct and indirect reports Able to communicate effectively in written, verbal and in group settings Able to analyze, understand and report on college, department and program analytics concerning SEO and UX Able to research, write and edit original content for all media channels Able to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, and attention to detail Able to facilitate project management with stakeholders and webmasters Able to participate in local, regional, national and international discussions and initiatives regarding standards, best practices, and new concepts related to SEO, content management, and UX through customer journey optimization Flexible and adaptable to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Keeps up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints Working knowledge of site architecture, keyword mapping and strategic site review Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms Knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies, best practices for organic SEO and knowledge of search engine spiders and search engine ranking factors across multiple media channels (website, organic and paid social media platforms, and marketing campaigns) Working knowledge in Google Analytics, Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint experience Knowledge of project management processes SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Demonstrated expertise in strategic content development planning, analysis and dissemination Student and customer-oriented with excellent relationship-building skills Excellent problem solving, attention to detail, objectivity, and analytical mindset Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite) Proficient in the use of computer applications; including but not limited to, Microsoft office products, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML / web design Requires high output and little or no supervision Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
