Marketing & Community Relations Intern Valero Texas Open - Intern San Antonio · TX Communications/Community Relations: Community Relations 0 1 week ago Apply Now Save Save Share this with someone Share * Share via Email * Share via Facebook * Share via X * Share via LinkedIn Position: Marketing & Community Relations Intern Job Type: Seasonal, Full-Time Location: San Antonio, Texas Period: January 13, 2025 - May 30, 2025 (Valero Texas Open week: March 31 - April 6) Compensation: $1,600 per month Valero Texas Open Overview: Established in 1922, the Valero Texas Open (VTO) is one of 46 events that make up the world's leading professional golf circuit, the PGA TOUR. Raising money for charity is a central focus of the PGA TOUR and the VTO shares in that mission. Having raised over $256 million for charity since inception, the VTO is consistently the top charitable fundraiser on the PGA TOUR annually - with $24 million donated in 2024. Each year, the VTO attracts 144 of the top PGA TOUR professionals, tens of thousands of spectators each day, millions of television viewers, and a list of blue-chip sponsors to TPC San Antonio and the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Now, we would like to attract the top intern candidates to join our team for the 2025 edition of the Valero Texas Open. Job Responsibilities: Assist & support the Director of Marketing & Community Relations and the Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator with tasks including, but not limited to: Marketing & Promotions * Coordinate and attend local events as liaison of promotions Street Team * Assist with social media planning, content creation, and execution * Assist with designing & writing content for advertising & special events collateral * Assist with graphic designs for various advertising platforms (previous experience in PhotoShop is a plus) * Assist with video editing (previous video editing experience is recommended but not required to apply) * Assist with Social Media Host itinerary during tournament week * Assist with Documentation of Performance Reports for key sponsors * Create Credential Handbook with Client Services team for tournament security checkpoints Valero Texas Open Ancillary Events * Assist with Children's Golf Clinic logistics and swag bags for children * Organize and work with volunteers for the charity check-in at the premiere Draw Party event * Assist with the PGA TOUR Wives charity event Champions fore Charity * Data entry of donor forms tracking over $16.7M+ worth of donations through fundraising program * Interact with participating charities & donors * Assist with collection of contributions and the billing process * Assist with tracking incentives contests * Processing check payments * Interacting with charities and donors via phone and email * Assist with fundraising reports for charities * Update credit card processing reports * Assist with contributing content for Champions fore Charity social media platforms * Assist with video editing (previous video editing experience is recommended but not required to apply) The internship also includes the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Valero Texas Open departments such as Operations, Sales, Client Services, and Volunteers on other tournament related events and projects. Job Qualifications and Requirements: The ideal candidate should… * Must be willing to move to or currently reside in/near San Antonio, Texas. * Must be able to commit fully to the Valero Texas Open, including long workdays and extended periods without a day off, especially in the four weeks prior to and the week of the Valero Texas Open. This includes working evenings, weekends and holidays as required throughout the period of employment. This is a full-time position. * Be energetic, detail orientated, punctual, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and exciting environment. * Be self-motivated and thrive under pressure in a fast paced work environment while exercising organizational, analytical and time management skills. * Have strong interpersonal skills that complement a proactive, solution driven, team-oriented work ethic. * Have a strong ability to foster relationships with a wide variety of individuals from entry level to C-level executives. * Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus. * Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. as needed. * Have valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to commute to main offices, TPC San Antonio temporary offices and to offsite locations. * Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), internet software, various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram); and Adobe software including Photoshop and video editing software.
