Posting Number S05944P Position Title Research Assistant I Functional Title Research Assistant I Department CBH Filbey Salary Range Starting at $37,000 Pay Basis Monthly Position Status Regular full-time Location Dallas Position End Date (if temporary) Posting Open Date 09/13/2024 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Desired Start Date 10/07/2024 Job Summary Provide assistance in various research activities in Dr. Francesca Filbey's Neuroimaging of Reward Dynamics Laboratory located at UT Dallas' Center for BrainHealth. Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) coordinating research staff and lab activities (recruiting participants, data collection, data entry and analysis), monitoring compliance with governing entities (IRB, NIH, etc.), conducting literature search, assisting with data reporting and presentation, liaising with collaborators. Working with human subjects. Interviewing and administering standardized psychological testing, assessment of viable participants, data entry at a computer terminal. Oversee data collection by students. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment. Preferred Education and Experience Strong preference for candidates with experience leading a research study, familiarity with ethical guidelines and IRB processes, and background in human subjects research that includes data collection and analysis. Strong organizational and time-management skills are a must. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (1) IRB Compliance: Ensure that all research activities are conducted in compliance with institutional and governmental policies, including ethical guidelines for human subjects; Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions or similar regulatory bodies. (2) Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, faculty, and other collaborators to ensure the smooth progress of research projects. Communicate effectively with participants, collaborators and other team members regarding study protocols and findings; Lead study team meetings. (3) Project Coordination: Assist in the development of research protocols, consent forms, and other necessary documentation; Monitor and maintain timelines for different research activities. (4) Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain clear, accurate, and detailed records of research activities and outcomes; Assist in writing study documents or presentations. (5) Data Collection: Assist in the recruitment of study participants and coordinate study logistics; Conduct literature reviews and summarize relevant studies; Collect, organize, and maintain research data using various methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, observations, laboratory experiments, neuroimaging). (6) Data Analysis: Code, enter, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate software (e.g., SPSS, RedCap, R, Python, etc.); Prepare data reports, graphs, and visual presentations to summarize findings.
