Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Position: Student Employee Department: Residence Life Classification: Part-time, Non-benefit eligible * Answer the phone and general questions at the front desk from residents and guests. * Participate in all staff meetings, trainings, and in-service meetings. * Be available to assist in covering desk hours in absence of Resident Assistants. * Prepare programming materials. * Maintain cleanliness of the office space, resources room, and clubhouse spaces * Restock recreational and craft materials. * Hold staff accountable for administrative tasks throughout the year. Community Development: * DAs are expected to develop a positive community atmosphere within the office space and positive relationships with residents and guests. * Provide excellent customer service while working with residents, both at the front desk and in day-to-day interactions. * Be available to students during desk hours to answer questions and assist with any concerns they may have. * DAs are expected to be positive, respectful, and constructive in their attitude and actions regarding the University and the values and opportunities available in a residence hall living environment. Understand that you represent Benedictine University at all times and your responsibility to the community extends to all members in the University community. Required Qualifications: Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing Please indicate if FWS funds. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone and customer service. May require bending or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The following of campus specific guidelines for pandemic protocols is required. Training: As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
