JOB TITLE: Academic Coordinator, Running Start DEPARTMENT: Student Services EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Professional 7. $40,790 to $48,948 Annually, salary depends on education and experience. Full-time, 12-mos., benefit eligible. Generous Benefits include (Note, the average value of FVCC's benefits is $25,000 in addition to salary!) * Health/Vision, Dental, Life/ADD & Long-term Disability Insurance: Generous Employer contribution toward the cost of these benefit premiums * Vacation Leave: Earn up to 15 days per year * Leave: Earn up to 12 days per year * Holiday Leave: 12 per year * Retirement: Participates in MT Public Employees Retirement System; AND Employer match up to 7% for 403(b) * Tuition Waiver: Employee plus up to two legal dependents * Public loan forgiveness FLSA: Exempt CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled SUMMARY The Academic Coordinator acts as the primary contact for high school students for dual credit and college credit opportunities, promotes and exposes students to career pathways, and assists with college applications, registration, and financial literacy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Provides outreach, support, and programs to area high schools with career pathways exploration, financial literacy, and college applications. * Provides academic advising and career advising to high school students. * Assists potential concurrent enrollment students with college placement and registration process. * Works with FVCC faculty and area high school instructors and counselors to facilitate, develop, increase participation, and enhance career pathways for students in coordination with supervisor and recruitment team. * Initiates and develops new programs of study and pathway agreements with regional high schools * Assists with FVCC Summer Experience and other educational opportunities for high school students. * Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality student recruitment. * Manages applicable grants; ensures grant objectives are met; maintains files, reports, and contracts; updates information according to policy and regulations. * Promotes, encourages, and executes programs of continuous assessment and benchmarking of goals, programs, and services and communicates the results. * Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships. * Fosters cooperative relationships with schools, community groups and other external agencies to enhance and promote the College. * Remains current in practices, trends and research related to areas of assignment * Attends related trainings, workshops, and professional development * Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed * Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students, faculty, and the College * Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships * Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies * Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on or convening committees and contributing in the community in college-related activities * Performs other duties as assigned * Reports to the Program Director, Running Start MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree AND one year of related experience, AND * Valid Montana driver's license with insurable driving record KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Knowledge and skill in career pathways * Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC * Ability and willingness to serve as an ambassador for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and community * Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships * Ability to follow and issue directions * Demonstrated communication, technology, presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds * Ability to intermittently work non-traditional schedules including evenings, weekends, etc. * Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels * Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality * Ability to pass a driver's license records check and maintain current Montana Driver's License and a clean driving record * Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check * Ability to respond in the event of an emergency * This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.
