Job Summary: Blavity Inc. is looking for a Contributing Writer to serve as a savvy storyteller who creates digital content around timely news, interviews, recommendations, culture, and lifestyle topics for the 21Ninety brand. This contracted 1099 role will report directly to the Deputy Editor, 21Ninety and produce up to 15 articles per month. Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role. Responsibilities * Publish 8-15 articles per month * Source relevant stories and stay in the know on emerging news and trends * Pitch creative and original content ideas that aligns with Blavity's Owned & Operated Brands Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's degree * Required Experience: * 1+ years experience in digital copywriting for lifestyle content * Proficient in creating, managing, and modifying content using a Content Management System * Strong knowledge of grammar and AP Style * Preferred Experience: Fluency in Asana, Jira, and/or comparable project management suite * Technologies: * Fluent in Google Suite, Google Search Console, WordPress, SEO tools, and GA4 or equivalent * Additional Qualifications: * A profound passion for and understanding of women's wellness, relationships, beauty, and lifestyle content * Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility * High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication and organizational skills; willing to wear multiple hats * A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture Details: * This is a fully remote role. * The per piece rate for this role is $125.
