Performance Operations Compensation: $17.36 - $21.05 Pay Grade: 104 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Salary Plan: Career Service Position Summary: Position Summary: The Assistant House Manager for the Palladium works closely with the Director of Guest Services to coordinate and manage all front of house activities during an event at the Palladium Theater. Incumbents assist with coordinating events and customer services. Responsibilities may include supervising part-time staff; planning, coordinating and monitoring concessions; acting as house manager; coordinating security activities; responding to customer needs; maintaining records; and preparing reports. Requirements: * Assist with inventory and maintaining concessions. * Work closely with volunteers and part time support staff * Assist with preparing reports and money logs * Oversee activities before during and after Palladium events * Engage Palladium clientele upon arrival to confirm all front of house needs are met * During event, coordinate communication among performer, crew and house; maintain a scheduled intermission; resume event after an intermission - having checked crew and front of house.¿ * Assure a pleasant and personable atmosphere at all events and for all volunteers and crew. * Respond to patron and vendor requests. * Assure patrons' and artists' safety and welfare before, during and after event. * Be prepared to handle a medical emergency or patron disturbance. * Performs related duties as required. * Schedule security personnel for events and facilitate related paperwork * Monitor anticipated attendance to order fire marshal when required Other Responsibilities: * Communicate effectively with all Palladium departments * Work closely with Director of Operations to manage show expectations * Provide hospitality for Palladium Presents artists Supervisor Responsibilities: * Assist and support volunteers and part time support staff. Education: Associate's degree in theater or a related field. Experience: Two years experience supporting theatrical productions. * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above. Knowledge: * Supervisory principles; * Theater operations; * Project coordination techniques; * Sales and marketing principles; * Basic accounting principles; * Database management principles; * Computers and related software applications. Skills: * Public speaking ; * Teaching/motivating; * Office management, administration, organizing and scheduling; * Maintain calm, professional composure during unexpected events. * Monitoring and evaluating the work of assistant house managers; * Prioritizing and assigning work; * Providing customer service; * Maintaining databases; * Troubleshooting and resolving problems; * Overseeing and reconciling financial information; * Using a computer and related software applications; * Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with assistants, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction. * Understand, evaluate and communicate with backstage and on-stage personnel Physical: * Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. * Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. * Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and intense noises. Responsibilities: These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary. Potential Frequency 1. Designs and constructs sets and technical engineering for theatrical productions which includes developing plans for sound engineering, scenery, and/or costumes; constructing scenery or costumes; installing, and utilizing sets, sound, and lighting; and performing related duties. Daily 80% 2. Monitors and maintains equipment and inventory; procures supplies and materials as necessary. Weekly 10% 3. Prepares and maintains a variety of operational records and reports. Daily 10% 4. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. As Required
