The Assistant Buyer will assist the buying team to achieve sales and profit objectives for multiple merchandise categories by developing and successfully implementing buying strategies, inventory management, merchandise selection, allocation, assortment, promotional planning, developing pricing strategies and marketing plans. Assist in conducting financial/merchandise business analysis, balance stock, monitor shop level open-to-buy (OTB) and vendor matrix development. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Purchase order creation and maintenance of the PO by Month spreadsheet for all categories. * Product maintenance in IMS. * Create worksheets for Buyer orders. * Price change communication and execution. * Administrative tasks as assigned. * Replenishment program monitoring for high velocity product categories. * Report generation as assigned. * Assistance with Buying appointments; to include, but not limited to, reports, agenda creation, note taking and in-appointment assistance. * Vendor compliance monitoring. * Creation of reference material for replenishment programs. * Logo approval assistance and maintenance of Logo Book. * Maintenance of the Retail Distribution Center "RDC" Conference Room calendar. * Travel coordination for Buying Team. * Handle master vendor Files. * Assistance with Retail Vendor Contract program. * Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures. Required Skills: * Knowledge of retail math acumen, including markup, markdown, gross margin, OTB, inventory productivity measures. * Understanding of merchandise flow and transition. * Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office. * Experience with a luxury retailer or golf resort preferred. * 2+ years of retail buying experience with comparable volume/proven track record of success required. * Bachelor's degree required. * Must possess a pleasant telephone demeanor; speak in a clear and concise manner. * Ability to perform data entry in various computer systems. * Good organizational and time management skills necessary.
