Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Executive Coach specializing in guiding superintendents and other executive leaders across the state within public school districts towards envisioning and enhancing the capacity of their educational institutions. This role involves collaborating closely with regional leaders and statewide stakeholders to support the professional growth and leadership effectiveness of superintendents and other key leaders. Qualifications: * Education: Master's degree or higher in Education Leadership, Organizational Development, or related field. Doctorate preferred. * Experience: Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in executive coaching, educational leadership, or organizational development, preferably within a regional educational service center and statewide executive teams. * Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills. Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in data-driven decision-making. * Collaborative Approach: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus towards shared goals. * Innovative Mindset: Demonstrated creativity, adaptability, and resilience in addressing complex educational challenges. Key Responsibilities: * Vision Development: Work closely with superintendents to articulate a clear, inspiring vision for the district's future that is aligned with TEA objectives and regional priorities. * Capacity Building: Identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth within the district's organizational capacity, providing tailored strategies and support to enhance effectiveness. * Leadership Development: Offer personalized coaching sessions to superintendents, focusing on leadership skills, strategic decision-making, and fostering a positive organizational culture. * Data-Informed Strategies: Utilize data analytics and assessment tools to evaluate district performance and inform evidence-based strategies for improvement. * Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate collaborative partnerships between the superintendent, school board, faculty, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment with district goals and foster community support. * Professional Learning Communities: Establish and facilitate professional learning communities for superintendents to share best practices, reflect on challenges, and collaboratively problem-solve. * Resource Utilization: Assist superintendents in effectively allocating resources, including financial, human, and technological, to support the implementation of district initiatives. * Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the district, promoting innovation, resilience, and adaptability to evolving educational landscapes. * Expert-level knowledge of effective district systems and practices aligned to Effective District Framework levers * Deep understanding of core leadership competencies for district superintendents, change management processes and practices, performance management high level principles and practices, stakeholder engagement, and adult learning and motivation theory * Strong foundation in coaching models and ability to implement with key stakeholders * Possesses regional context and relationships that will help build credibility and trust with Region 16 superintendents, as well as historical knowledge of community demographics, dynamics, and district performance required * Strategic planning and implementation experience required. Must possess the ability to facilitate range of conversations with superintendent and district leadership team on root cause reflection, exemplar reflection, analysis, and strategic planning and effectively respond to superintendent responses and reactions * Exemplary communication and customer service skills required * Ability to identify and evaluate enabling conditions to actualize a vision around strategic systems and priorities Working Conditions: * Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals * Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standing * Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional driving * Lifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more) * Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise * Mental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion * Regular Attendance is an essential function Job Responsibilities * Provides tailored coaching and support to the superintendent and when necessary to their senior district leaders. * Provides tailored coaching to statewide leaders in various programs and formats. * Jointly facilitates meetings with superintendents aligned to Texas Strategic Leadership milestones such as current state analysis, multi-year strategic planning, goal setting and implementation planning. * Partners with TSL Strategic Priorities Data Analyst for strong preparation and effective integration of data and performance management principles as well as facilitation of key milestones. * Leans into pilot learning experiences, demonstrate flexibility in program iteration and execution, as well as critical and creative thinking/problem-solving in providing meaningful feedback to a range of stakeholders. * Demonstrates strong content knowledge, facilitation skill, authentic district trust, and achievement of targeted district strategic planning outcomes. Obtains certification as a TSL Lead Coach. * Works alongside other ESC leaders to develop a vision of support for districts in Region 16. * Leads district/campus leadership professional development, implementation support, and coaching related to Texas Strategic Leadership and Effective District Leadership Initiatives. * Develops content and leads statewide training in Executive Coaching. * Provides board leadership and training on multiple topics. * Supports certain portions of Teacher Incentive Allotment. * Supervises multiple programs and personnel. Responsible for building capacity in other leaders and guiding program success in multiple areas. * Serves as a leader across the organization and helps drive, align, and prioritize strategic priorities. * Travels as a part of job responsibilities. * Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the service area director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly. * Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities. * Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16. * Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters. * Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC strategic plan. * Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program. * Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures. * Manages time, calendar, and job responsibilities to meet deadlines. * Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor. * Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor. * Performs other duties as assigned.
