Job Title Facilities Management Intern Job Description Summary Job Description o With guidance from the Facilities Manager (FM), schedule and document maintenance and repairs on building equipment, and communicate frequently with client and vendors to resolve issues and provide project status updates o Work alongside FM and coordinators to verify final invoice pricing and process payments in a timely manner. Learn to coordinate with vendors to submit invoices if the vendor is not adhering to our billing procedures o Assist FM in generating monthly financial reports that will be presented to the client o Assist FM in auditing work order performance. Create work orders for engineering team as needed. o Under the direction of the FM, become familiar with vendor agreements and other building/facility contracts. o Proactively inspect the facility, systems, rooms, common areas, etc. and report back any findings or issues to the FM o Undertake information gathering, research and analysis of data to provide relevant advice and information o Develop own professional expertise through on the job training and observation o Update databases o Aid the business in the execution of their daily tasks o Respond to day-to-day requests, providing information and advice and ensuring that issues are properly addressed o Deliver through established processes, systems and procedures ensuring work standards and requirements are met o Varies dependent on what team the intern is working on Qualifications and Required Skills o Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Facilities Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration o Strong oral and written communication skills. o Must have a highly professional presence, be a strong relationship builder and value an entrepreneurial environment. o Must be analytical and a creative problem solver. o Must be a self-starter, who is reliable, and gets things done as efficiently as possible. o Must be great as an individual contributor as well as a team player. o Must have strong PC skills (Microsoft Office) with the ability to use best industry technology to obtain latest market research, historical information, and trends. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.
