Position Summary The Kickapoo Reserve Management Board (KRMB) Education Management Plan strives to create an interdependent relationship between the Kickapoo Valley Reserve [Reserve] and educational users such as schools, communities, residents, businesses, and visitors in a manner that enhances the appreciation and respect for the place and its people. The Training Coordinator for the Education Program requires considerable knowledge of the Reserve and its mission to preserve and protect by developing, introducing, and coordinating environmental, nature-based education opportunities on the Reserve. This position will work independently under the supervision of the Executive Director for the KRMB. For more information, please view the complete position description. Salary Information The starting rate for this unclassified KRMB Training Coordinator NTE 81-04 position (schedule/range 01-00) position will be $22.00 per hour - $26.00 per hour depending upon candidate qualifications. Job Details Candidates must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends to meet operational needs. This position also requires a valid driver's license and to meet the State's Fleet Standards. Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have experience with each of the following: * Developing, managing, and/or implementing an educational program (e.g., event planning, project management, establishing goals and deadlines, staff coordination and collaboration, monitoring results, and outcome evaluation, etc.). * Establishing and maintaining working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders including staff, general public, volunteers, parents, youth, teachers, administrators, etc. * Utilizing computer and related software to maintain databases, spreadsheets, and general correspondence, etc. In addition, well-qualified candidates will have experience with one or more of the following: * Serving as a teacher or instructor (K-Adult) in a traditional or outdoor setting. * Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Education, Science, or related field.
