Job Title Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Ecology & Conservation Biology Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Major/Essential Duties of Job: 1. Develop deep learning-based natural disaster damage identification models by leveraging hyper-resolution remote sensing data. 2. Generate fine-resolution maps of the forage loss and recovery based on the satellite image time-series analysis. 3. Prepare and publish articles in national/international peer-reviewed scientific journals that highlight findings from the research projects. 4. Present research findings at national/international events and conferences; 5. Collaborate with various, relevant faculty at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research in developing grant proposals for increased future funding, preparing peer-review journal articles, and supervising graduate students, if any. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education: A PhD degree in a field related to the tasks above Preferred Education: Education in a field within the broader theme of remote sensing, computer science, or ecology with a quantitative, empirical orientation, and fundamental parts of agriculture. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and scientific writing skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently, be goal-oriented and using initiative with a methodical, systematic approach. Endurance and contribution to scientific work in a team on collaborative research. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Expertise in statistical data analysis, with profound experience in Python and Pytorch; * Experience with GIS and/or remote sensing ; * Knowledge and work experience in cropping systems, sustainable agriculture, and climate change/variability impact is valuable; * Experience in the development of research proposals and grant writing, an essential part of the job; * Experience in preparing publications in peer-reviewed journals and presenting the project results at national and international conferences; Please attach Cover Letter, CV/Resume, Transcript, References & other documents.
