Key Account Manager (Logistics), Basler Inc. * Basler Inc. - Exton, 855 Springdale Dr Suite 203 * Work experience * Marketing, Communication, PR * Sales, Key Accounting Starting immediately, Full-time Basler is a leading international manufacturer of imaging components for computer vision applications such as cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, software as well as embedded vision solutions, customized products and consulting services. The products are used in a variety of computer vision markets, including factory automation, medical, traffic, logistics, retail, and robotics. Founded in 1988, the Basler Group employs approximately 1000 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg (near Hamburg) and other locations in Europe, Asia and North America. An ideal candidate for this position will aggressively pursue profitable business at new and existing logistics accounts. Both winning new business and effectively managing and growing existing business are the highest priorities. Key Account Managers are responsible for identifying opportunities, engaging key contacts, successfully implementing the Basler sales process and closing business. Effectively utilizing and managing company resources to achieve sales targets is critical. All assigned key accounts and target accounts will be companies operating within the logistics market segment. The Key Account Manager will be expected to develop and maintain an expert understanding of the logistics market and associated applications. Key Account Managers travel as needed, independently or with team members, up to 25% of their time. The assigned territory covers logistics accounts located throughout North American. This position reports to the Sales Manager, Logistics Americas. Tasks and Responsibilities Managing the initiatives and activities listed below. The overarching goal is to generate revenue by effectively managing specific Basler Inc. resellers, distributors and integrators within the United States, Mexico and South America. Resellers, distributors and integrators herein after called "Channel Partners". 1. Revenue: * Meet or exceed sales quota and assigned goals, including growth of new and existing business. * Aggressively pursue viable and profitable opportunities for Basler products and solutions. * Efficiently and effectively determine viability of new logistics opportunities based on Basler fit and profitability potential. * Utilize Business Development skills and abilities to hunt for new business at large Fortune 100 Logistics accounts. * Use creativity and perseverance to overcome obstacles, progress through the sales process and win new business. * Establish and maintain professional relationships with key contacts and decision makers at multiple levels of the customer org chart. * Develop and maintain an elevated level of knowledge of all Basler products and solutions and present the unique advantages of Basler to customers. * Maintain a strong understanding of logistics-based applications including, but not limited to, Pick & Place, Object Identification & Barcode Reading. * Develop strong working relationships with all Basler colleagues and contribute to a collaborative working environment. * Determine the resources needed to generate revenue at logistics accounts and effectively manage the utilization of these resources. 2. Administration: * Responsible for submitting timely and accurate forecasts based on information obtained from each customer. * Record all relevant customer information and activities in Salesforce. * Provide accurate information to various contacts within Basler Inc. and Basler AG, including the companies and opportunities to pursue to generate near- and long-term revenue. * Provide useful feedback on new and established products, competitive activities, suggestions for new products, product features and sales approach to various contacts within Basler Inc. and Basler AG. * Effectively utilize and coordinate support resources both locally and at HQ in Germany. * Responsibly manage loaner equipment to maximize revenue and minimize losses. 3. Other: * Develop sufficient application and technical knowledge to be effective in identifying opportunities and assist customers with Professional End User and OEM design-ins, solutions, and product development. * Understand the business unit objectives (types of desired business, target pricing levels, etc.) and act accordingly in day-to-day activities. * Contribute to the strategic direction of the company via filtered input from Key Accounts to help steer the company's technical and commercial direction. * Attend domestic and international sales meetings as needed to develop sales skills, technical skills, share market intelligence and learn about product development pipelines. Desired Skills and Experience * Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of sales experience in a technical industry is preferred. * Technology affinity is necessary and basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, optical and illumination systems along with a familiarity with the industrial imaging environment is preferred. * Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience within the logistics space. * Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to speak with multiple personality types while actively listening to customer needs, concerns and objectives. * Demonstrate ownership of problems and opportunities by seeing them through to successful resolution. * The ability and inclination to aggressively pursue new business by prospecting for new opportunities and discerning which represent the best fit for Basler. * Ability to effectively work globally with cultural sensitivity and respect. * Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. * Ability and willingness to travel. Total overnight travel expected for this position is up to 25%.
