Your impact: ELLE DECOR is seeking a whip-smart editorial assistant to work across our editorial team for both our print and digital platforms. In addition to writing both SEO and e-commerce articles for our website, this assistant will oversee the collection of product credits for the print magazine and will shepherd the in-book captions and resources page through our editorial process. There will be opportunities to assist on story production, which will involve calling in and returning products from various vendors and being on set at photo shoots. This assistant will also help our editor in chief by filing monthly expense reports. The ideal candidate will have top-notch writing skills and a keen eye for good design; enthusiasm and attention to detail are both paramount for this role! Job Duties/Responsibilities: * Report and write SEO, e-commerce, and other stories for ElleDecor.com on a weekly basis * Collaborate with the deputy digital editor and engagement editor on our audience engagement efforts, including writing for the ELLE DECOR email newsletter, membership program, and the brand's social media platforms * Procure credit information from interior designers for our feature stories and incorporate these credits into our print captions and back-of-book resource listings * Assist on photo shoots as needed (calling in and/or returning products, assisting on set, filling out insurance paperwork) * File monthly expense reports for the editor in chief Job Qualifications: * Previous experience in journalism and media is essential, either through past internships or full-time work * A strong interest in home and design is preferred but not required * Top-notch writing skills * A willingness to learn, and an enthusiasm to roll up your sleeves and help the team! The base salary for this role is between $60,000-$61,500. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
