Job Description: Wittenberg University has an opening for a Graduate Assistant (GA) Coach for Strength & Conditioning beginning in the 2024 fall semester. The university offers a Master's in Sport Administration program that focuses on all aspects of coaching and leadership. The GA coaching position and enrollment in the master's program will afford the successful candidate the ability to directly apply knowledge learned in the classroom to the athletes they coach. The GA Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in leading all aspects of an NCAA Division III athletic program. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: * Assist the Head Strength & Conditioning coach in all aspects of monitoring the HWA Strength & Fitness Centers, including daily opening and/or closing procedures. * In coordination with the Head Strength & Conditioning coach, develop a schedule to ensure that the sessions for all sport programs are covered and monitored by a strength & conditioning coach. * Monitor and ensure that the Head Strength & Conditioning coach has pre-approval of all team sessions taking place in the facility. * Provides fair and equal supervision to all team(s) or individuals utilizing the strength center during their time on duty. * Implement Strength & Conditioning programs as directed by the Head Strength & Conditioning coach. * Manage Strength Center in the absence of the Head Strength & Conditioning coach. * Performs regular safety inspections of the Strength Center and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety to its patrons. * Ensure that the Strength Center is properly cleaned and organized at the conclusion of any session in which the Strength & Fitness Centers are opened to either teams or the general campus community. * Monitor and regulate the Strength Center environment for the enjoyment of all patrons using the facility. * Provide guidance and assistance to those using both the Strength & Fitness Centers. * Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc. Requirements: * Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. * Candidates must be accepted into Wittenberg's Master's in Sport Administration program. * Candidates should have NSCA certification (or be willing to obtain certification). * Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to effectively and appropriately interact with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators. * Proficiency in the following areas is preferred: Microsoft Office, social media platforms. A valid driver's license is required; must meet required insurance qualifications found in Wittenberg Motor Pool policies and procedures. If license is from out of state, successful candidate will need to obtain a valid Ohio driver's license within 30 days of hire date. Being authorized to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment.
