Job Description and Duties THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE. The EDD Workforce Services Branch (WSB) is seeking candidates to apply for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) position in the Deputy Director's Office within the Workforce Services Branch (WSB). Working as an analyst, you'll be part of a diverse and passionate team helping our fellow Californians get back to work. You'll support the Deputy Director's Office and Executive Team by utilizing your problem solving skills and communication skills to execute statewide communication strategy to internal and external stakeholders. You'll provide excellent customer service and administrative support through strong organizational and time management skills. You'll make a difference every day. The Branch Project Coordinator will serve as a project manager for a wide variety of WSB special projects, initiatives, and communication strategy statewide. This unique position provides direct exposure to the WSB Executive team, and primarily the WSB Deputy Director and Associate Deputy Director/Chief of Staff, the EDD Directorate, the Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), and other Workforce System Executives. The WSB Deputy Director's Office is a small, fast-moving office within a large Branch of 1146 people and is managed by the Associate Deputy Director/Chief of Staff. We build and maintain relationships through our people skills, analytical skills, anticipating needs and deriving creative solutions. We handle a wide variety of branch-level issues and questions under the direction of human-centered leaders. This position is the only one of its kind within the Branch, and the incumbent will complete independent work frequently, but will actively use people skills to build in-person and virtual relationships throughout the state. About WSB: The Workforce Services Branch (WSB) administers the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Wagner-Peyser (W-P) programs which prepare adults, youth, and dislocated workers for participation in the workforce and brings employers with job openings together with qualified job seekers. The WSB is comprised of three Field Divisions which directly deliver services to the public across California: Los Angeles/Coastal Division, Northern Division, and Southern Division. The WSB's Central Office Workforce Services Division supports EDD staff in the field and provides program guidance to WIOA-funded partners located throughout California. The Deputy Director's office oversees the Branch personnel program, risk management program, statewide workforce initiatives and participates in the development of policy and funding strategies in support of the workforce system.
