It encompasses Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke Primary Care, Private Diagnostic Clinic, Duke Home and Hospice, Duke Health and Wellness, and multiple affiliations. This role is for a Non-Duke Student intern. General Purpose: The Social Work Intern will be responsible for a broad range of activities that support current graduate/professional students enrolled at the Duke University School of Nursing. The Intern must have the ability to work and communicate well with students, faculty, and staff. This is a part-time, in person position reporting to the Director of the Student Success Center. Qualifications: * The Social Work Intern must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a university's Master of Social Work program. * Familiarity with the Durham community and local resources is preferred. * Experience working with adult learners preferred. Workdays/Hours: * This Internship is onsite 3 days a week/ 24 hours per week. * Days and times can be negotiated between the Intern and Director of the Student Success Center. Responsibilities: * Provide non-clinical case management content and outreach to current SON students. * Identify and connect students to resources within the Durham community. * Design of an electronic Durham community resource repository. * Help plan, coordinate, and facilitate virtual and in person workshops, group training sessions, and events. * Provide support for academic skill-building and emotional well-being. * Participate in a variety of wellness meetings and initiatives within the School of Nursing and across campus. * Create and maintain an Intern Orientation Manual for ongoing use by current and future interns. * Assist with the coordination of accommodations for students registered with the Student Disability and Access Office. * Help with administrative duties and other tasks assigned.
