Responsibilities: * Summarizes and documents physician's examination findings accurately, updates to chief complaints, assessments, treatment recommendations, and decision justifications. * Assists patients exiting exam rooms to optimize patient flow and overall clinic efficiency. * Coordinates patient needs during examinations and communicates changes to daily schedules, particularly emergencies, to physicians promptly. * Performs various administrative tasks including answering phones, scanning documents, abstracting patient records, checking patients in and out, and managing work queues. * Maintains close proximity to physician during patient encounters to facilitate efficient workflow and minimize interruptions. * Guides patients to the front desk post-exam, ensuring follow-up appointments are scheduled as needed. * Monitors examination rooms for cleanliness and ensures adequate stock of supplies. Qualifications: Required: * Fluency in English * High School Diploma and 4 years' experience in a medical office, medical transcription or billing/coding required OR Associates degree or equivalent, and two years' experience in a medical office, medical transcription or billing/coding * Basic of knowledge ICD-10 coding Preferred * Experience with Microsoft Office applications Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire * Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) * Act 34 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
