Responsibilities: * Provide clerical and clinical support to the Emergency Department. * Maintaining quality customer service standards and assisting in the flow of information within the department. * A strong understanding of the Electronic Health Record of both the Lab systems and the Emergency Department system, as well Unit operations be key. * Cross training as a secretary. * Performs venipunctures, heelsticks, and fingersticks to obtain blood samples for testing purposes. * Properly identifies patients and follows procedures for collection of specimens. * Performs other related functions as assigned including EKG acquistions. Requirements: * High school diploma or GED required. * Completion of a formal training course in phlebotomy procedures preferred. * One year phlebotomy experience preferred. * Current BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
