Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to support Tukwila, WA supporting Puget Sound locations. Primary Responsibilities: * Develops program and project equipment requirements. * Validates analysis of technical data, influences product engineering design and makes for robotics, automation or technical recommendations to support production system integration for aerospace products and ground support equipment. * Leads the creation and modification of equipment definitions at the program level. * Executes project plans, provides input to Make/Buy decisions and partners with Procurement to meet program schedule, cost and quality targets. * Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. * Leads gated reviews and develops plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance and spares. * Validates contractual performance milestones. * Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation. * Conducts studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start isrequired. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): * Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar Engineering degree * 3+ years of experience as an equipment engineer Preferred qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques * Experience working in an Equipment or Tooling Engineer role * Experience working in a production environment * Experience using CAD programs. * Experience with programming, integrating or troubleshooting industrial controls from OEMs. * Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems * Experience in Automation and robotics * Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor * Project management knowledge Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Travel: Local travel (South Puget Sound) is required based on business needs. Some domestic travel may be necessary.
