Job Overview In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining foundry patterns and related tooling at our modern and air-conditioned facility. A Day In The Life * Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding * Use all machinists and patternmaker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully * Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal, plastic and wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates * Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments * Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .001 * Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition * Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor or group leader * Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision What will help you thrive in this role? * High school diploma or GED * Have previously completed a Patternmaker apprenticeship program * Minimum 5 years' experience in a toolroom environment * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design models * Excellent fine motor skills * Detail-oriented * Ability to work to a deadline * Ability to adhere to company rules and guidelines, including daily attendance * Willingness to work overtime as needed * Physically fit and able to stand for long periods * Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly * Work in a union shop CNC mill and/or ram EDM setup and operation experience preferred Hubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
