Position Overview Butler University Libraries seeks a Business Librarian to serve as the liaison to the Lacy School of Business, with an emphasis on instructional services and support for initiatives related to business information services. The position collaborates deeply with faculty to provide course-integrated library instruction in support of student learning outcomes, manages collections activities for business information, and provides research support for faculty and students. The position also collaborates with other librarians and staff to provide services and outreach to the rest of the campus community. This is a 12-month continuing appointment (non-tenure track) faculty position, reporting to the Head of Instruction. The position is expected to fulfill requirements of faculty status through active contributions in the areas of librarianship, research/scholarship/professional contributions, and service. Responsibilities * Designs and delivers information literacy instruction for the Lacy School of Business through in-class and online sessions. * Partners with LSB faculty and staff to identify needs and assess the effectiveness of information literacy training for undergraduate and graduate business students. * Develops and maintains collections of business information resources in all formats that support the curriculum and faculty/staff research. * Provides research consultations to support student research for course assignments, honors theses, and internships. * Assists in supporting the Core Curriculum through information literacy instruction (ex: First-Year Seminar) * Advocates for and informs LSB faculty students regarding other Butler Libraries initiatives and activities (institutional repository, events, programming, policies, etc.) * Engages in scholarly and creative activities related to librarianship, including publications and presentations at the local, state, or national levels. * Participates in library governance and planning through the Library Faculty and activities such as service on library task forces and committees and assists with library outreach activities. * Serves on university, community, or professional committees at a local, state, or national level. * Stays informed on new technologies, pedagogies, and information resources through professional development and continuing education opportunities. This position is open to entry-level and experienced applicants. Required Qualifications * Master's of Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution * Evidence of the ability to achieve professional/scholarly achievements appropriate for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank Preferred Qualifications While not everyone may meet all preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will add many of the following:
