Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Consultant lead and grow our Environmental Services business to Energy and Utility Clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We are interested in Leaders to provide strategic leadership to our clients and collaborate with our staff on a variety of projects and actively pursue new opportunities while maintaining existing client relationships. In addition to regularly interacting with clients and participating in business development activities, daily work will also include developing proposals, mentoring staff, driving our quality and health and safety program, and lending your regulatory expertise to deliver to our clients. Your Key Responsibilities + Provide technical leadership on projects and thought leadership on solutions to environmental challenges for energy projects + Lead our teams that collect and report on tasks that will include, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, land use mapping and vegetation cover classification, and other natural resource-focused surveys. + Coordinate, oversee, and prepare waters and wetlands permit applications for the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Pennsylvania and New Jersey DEP, plus Soil Erosion Control Plans to County Soil Conservation Districts. + Coordinate, oversee and prepare Federal and State SPCC/DPCC Plans for spill coordination with clients. + Develop proposal strategies and lead/collaborate with a broader proposal team + Partner with our engineer and design teams to deliver successful energy projects + Lead business development initiatives with new and existing clients + Lead the delivery of high-quality service on client projects + Effectively communicate data collection methods and results to varied audiences that include clients, regulators, and the public + Recruit, mentor, and support the professional development of staff + Drive growth of Key Energy Accounts Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials + Demonstrated ability in business development and revenue growth + Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse project teams and manage large complex projects, particularly energy projects + Experience with local, state, and federal environmental permitting in New Jersey and Pennsylvania including experience with the USACOE and PADEP 105/102 Permitting Program and the NJDEP Freshwater Wetlands Permit Program, including associated technical reviews including SHPO and T&E + Demonstrated experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish + Ability to work in a team environment and build a program + Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability + Ability to meet project deadlines + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; including advanced technical writing abilities + Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously + Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment + Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials + Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, and successfully interact with clients, counsel, and stakeholders + Ability to work well independently and with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment + Working relationships with PECO and ACE or other Pennsylvania and New Jersey Energy Utilities + Experience in growing key accounts Education and Experience + Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or a related field is required.
