This will require you to climb telephone poles and use ladders to complete the installation. You will also use a handheld computer to receive jobs. In this position you will interact with employees from other communication service providers. And you will work to sell and promote Windstream products and services. Do You Have: * Ability to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable, climb a ladder and work aloft as well as in confined spaces such as a manhole. * Able to use and maintain assigned tools and equipment and lift at least 70 pounds. * Available to work an assigned schedule including weekends and holidays, overtime, after hours callouts and during non-scheduled hours. As well as work in any assigned location. *Must reside within a reasonable distance of assigned reporting center* * Strong communication skills, the ability to professionally interact with the public, customers, co-workers, and managers and maintain a neat appearance. * Excellent mechanical ability, strong computer skills and ability to operate test equipment. * Ability to prepare maintain accurate records with legible handwriting. * Ability to complete on the job training and testing and to attend schools for training, which may require overnight travel, as well as to train others. * Basic understanding of electronic theory preferred. * High School or GED Equivalent required, plus two-year technical degree in computers or electronics or the equivalent in work experience. * 3-5 years of experience with installation or maintenance of telecommunications voice and data network service & equipment or equivalent education. * A valid driver's license, CDL or ability to obtain one.
