Job Description The ideal candidate has experience with photography and videography and is enthusiastic about social media. Superb interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills are vital for this role. Viable candidates will also be detail oriented and highly reliable with the ability to arrive at work on time, complete tasks on time, and respond to emails/text or other communications within 2 business days (48 hours). Required Qualifications * Must be available to work at least 4 hours per week. * An undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Kansas enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for fall 2024. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments). * Photography and videography skills as evidenced by application materials. * Evidence of strong communication & content creation skills, as demonstrated in application materials. Preferred Qualifications * Be an experienced user of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and the content editing tools available on those platforms. * Have a strong understanding of, and affinity for, interviewing people. * Highly organized, detailed and an excellent communicator. * Self-starter and proficient in time management. * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. * Positive attitude and a history of strong work ethic. * Majoring in journalism, film, design, communications, marketing, or a related field * Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other video editing software and an ability to learn new software quickly.
