Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Title: Instructor/Coordinator, Basic Peace Officer Certification (BPOC) Salary Structure: $76,414.57 + annually Position Contract: 12-months, Exempt/Instructional Benefits: * Generous monthly allowance toward medical and other benefits * District paid retirement into the Oklahoma Teacher's Retirement System * Tuition reimbursement program available General Job Description: Metro Technology Centers is is accepting applications for an Instructor/Coordinator, Basic Peace Officer Certification (BPOC) who will be responsible for monitoring and supervising assigned program(s) to assure compliance with all State, Federal, local and accrediting agency guidelines and for performing any instructional responsibilities as are necessary for continuity and quality of the program. GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Certification as a full time peace officer in the State of Oklahoma. * At least five (5) years of successful occupational experience in law enforcement or related areas. * Possession of a CLEET Basic Instructor Development Certificate or an equivalent certification from another state. (Firearms, LEDT or DT Certification preferred but not required) * At least two (2) years of experience as an instructor in an accredited law enforcement training program preferred. * Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Certificates, licenses or ratings as required to fulfill accrediting agency requirements. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: * Demonstrate through empirical data that quality tools are used in the classroom. * Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers. * Recommends calendar for assigned program, assuring required number of days/hours of instruction in classroom and skills settings. * Recommends and monitors adjunct schedules and schedules appropriate adjuncts and substitutes as necessary. * Schedules and coordinates skills instruction with appropriate partners. * Ensure BPOC adheres to the minimum standards for the following as prescribed by law title 390:15-4-1 for Instructors, Curriculum, Program Evaluation, Student enrollment, Achievement and Certification. * Provide oversight and program administration for BPOC advisory committee. * Complete required applications for ongoing academies and training * Maintain list of current qualified adjunct instructors and copies of credentials. * Prepares all required reports and plans and coordinates all program meetings, testing sessions, and student meetings and activities. * Instructs students in application procedures, testing procedures, program orientation, and other subject areas as required. * Substitutes for adjuncts as required. * Makes recommendations for student counseling, discipline, and BPOC Cadet Handbook. * Maintains records for the institution to provide information on all students as required by the appropriate requesting agency. * Ensures accurate program inventory of items. * Requisitions through the Site Director for materials, supplies, and equipment in a manner which reflects planning ahead of actual needs. * Demonstrates, encourages and maintains safe conditions throughout the classroom and skills areas, cooperating fully with the District and campus safety committees and appropriate authorities. * Attends workshops, conferences and staff meetings, etc. as approved and requested by the administration or Board of Education. * Upholds the policies and procedures of the Board of Education and supports the organizational management philosophy of the District.?Works cooperatively and in harmony with co-workers and other District employees. * Attends work regularly following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities. Must be able to attend and participate in meetings and conferences as scheduled. * Demonstrates dedication to working with students in an objective and fair manner regardless of handicap, race, sex, national origin, age, or socio-economic background, abstaining absolutely and entirely from sexual harassment and exploitation; follows the standards of conduct and performance as adopted by the State Board of Education. * Demonstrates the ability to read, speak clearly and deliver presentation; ability to operate instructional equipment; and ability to move around the classroom. * Performs any duties as may be required by the administration or Board of Education, commensurate with a non-certified instructor/coordinator position.
