Responsibilities Location(s) Shelton, Connecticut Status Regular Job ID REQ-053481 Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Design and development of firmware applications and drivers in Embedded Linux and/or Embedded Windows environment. * Design and development of new product architectures and deployment planning. * Strong involvement in product from inception through launch, interacting with early users, understanding customer needs, and driving solutions to meet or exceed expectations. * Development of project tasks, timelines and reporting regularly on progress. * Investigation of complex system problems and driving engineering solutions to improve products and processes. Job Requirements: * Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of related knowledge and experience with both applications and driver development. * Able to commute 5 days/week on site in Shelton, CT (Sorry, sponsorship is not budgeted for this role) * Expert with modern development tools (IDEs): Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc. * Experience with Embedded RTOS design especially Embedded Linux highly desirable. * Experience in C/C++ and other higher level languages * Experience with standard communication interfaces: USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, etc. * Understanding of VHDL or Verilog within FPGAs. * Experience with motion controls and/or vision systems a plus. * Demonstrated understanding of standard design practices including revision control, design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for reliability. * Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and communicate across related disciplines. Job Performance Characteristics: * Comfortable working with others in a laboratory environment. * Strong written and oral communication skills able to solve problems and document solutions. * Accountable for developing innovative solutions that meet time and budgetary constraints. * Able to prioritize tasks and deliver high impact solutions independently. * Willing to mentor or lead less experienced team members. The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $96,000 to $120,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
