TRAINING &EXPERIENCE: * Must have the ability to organize and provide leadership for the participants in a responsible and professional manner * Must have reasonable knowledge of the advertised sport and functions * Knowledge of the psychology of the adolescent * Must have the experience and ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner with other school personnel QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be willing to meet the demands of time and commitment necessary to maintain a quality sports program * Must possess CIF Coaching Certification "Fundamentals of Coaching" - Other required certifications dependent and specific to sport * Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certification prior to the start of the season * Must meet transportation requirements for driving on district business PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Neat personal appearance, the ability to work effectively with students, fellow employees, and school officials; and the ability to meet the public tactfully and courteously ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: * The following tasks are essential for this position. Incumbents in this classification may not perform all of these tasks, or may perform similar related tasks not listed here. * Work under the supervision of the Athletic Director and the immediate direction of the Principal * Recruit and assemble annually a team from the student body * Develop and implement tryout standards * Collaborate with the members and the administration on guidelines for participation * Coordinate practice schedules with the Athletic Director * Be financially accountable for all receipts and expenditures of money * Responsible for securing equipment and facilities used for practice * Require students to adhere to Riverbank Unified School District rules and regulations * Assist in the coordination and supervision of the transportation of teams to and from all areas of participation * Assist with the arrangements for individual team award ceremonies * Promote the participation of the team in workshops PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: * Requires the mobility to stand, stoop, reach, and bend. Requires mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects. * Requires the ability to stand for long periods. * Requires the ability to walk long distances. * Performs lifting, pushing, and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job. * Is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
