Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities * Facilitates one-on-one and group training on various topics including mandatory employee trainings, pre-service for newly hired employees and specialized or developmental trainings including de-escalation techniques, first aid/CPR, etc. * Creates and maintains a positive, supportive and engaging environment while training and uses person-first language consistently in all aspects of work. * Regularly conducts in-person training sessions at various locations across the organization or virtually through use of Zoom, Teams or other similar platforms and uses multimedia to present content to audience. * Ensures appropriate participation by attendees throughout sessions, refocusing and providing feedback to the audience as needed. * Develops and maintains an understanding of the history of the I/DD field, terminology and distinct types, diagnoses and specific needs of people with I/DD. * Maintains awareness and understanding of oversight agency rules, regulations and directives as applicable to assigned region(s) and training topics, including California Title 22 and 17 Regulations, NYS OPWDD and NJ DDD. * Works directly with program staff to provide initial and annual certifications, assist with scheduling and coordination of trainings and to follow-up on completion of training requirements and status. * Collaborates with and provides updates and feedback to the Regional Training Managers, supervisor and Director of Training regarding training content, administration, etc. * Ensures all documents, files, technology or other equipment required to conduct training is accessible and functional before scheduled training session; may assist in coordination and scheduling of trainings when needed. * Assists with documenting training courses, completing or obtaining paperwork and tracking or reporting attendance; may update electronic systems, issue certificates or make notifications, as applicable. * May facilitate ad hoc trainings for specific groups of employees and/or programs, as requested in response to incidents, changing skill and/or knowledge needs. * Performs all other duties, as assigned. Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) * High School Diploma or GED; and * One (1) year of I/DD or related social services experience; or * Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. * Willingness and ability to travel regularly across organization to conduct trainings, including on weekends; may conduct training in evening hours, as needed. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to read verbal and non-verbal cues from attendees. * Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Outlook and Excel. * Strong commitment to and passion for the organization's mission. Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above) * Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education or related field. * Working knowledge of applicable oversight agency rules and regulations (CA Titles 22 and 17, OPWDD, DDD, etc.). * Experience working with people with I/DD in a direct support role. * Experience training and/or presenting information to others in a group setting. * Experience with Zoom, Teams and related technology and multimedia programs.
