Position Title Student Worker - Education and Programming Intern - The Lewisburg Children's Museum (AMPLIFY) Position Approval Date 08/27/2024 Is this position budgeted? Position Summary Job Summary The Education and Programming Intern will support and assist the Education Director with developing new and existing programs. The Education and Programming Intern will play a key role in the development, planning, and execution of Messy Mondays and ongoing weekend activities, such as STEM Saturdays, summer camp planning and coordination, and other hands-on activities in our programming room and exhibit space for children 0-12 years old. The Lewisburg Children's Museum inspires learning, imagination, and play through interactive, enriching experiences in a safe, accessible environment for all children and their families. Specific Responsibilities: * Plan weekly programs such as Messy Monday, STEM Saturday, and NISE Kits at Noon Develop a number of new programming ideas and create an outline detailing the specifics of each idea. * Plan and oversee at least one event/program from start to finish. * Assist with various programs and special events at the museum. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail. * Have experience utilizing Google platforms, including Google Drive, Google Forms, Gmail, etc., as well as social media such as Instagram and Facebook. * Ability to create marketing materials on Canva and with other mediums. * Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time and to work collaboratively in a diverse work environment. * Possess, or be able to obtain, and complete all security clearances required to work with children (if the applicant is over the age of 18). Required Qualifications Learning Objectives * Support New Program Development: Assistant the Educational Director in developing both new and existing educational programming at LCM. * Execute Educational Programs: Manage weekly educational programming such as Messy Mondays, STEM Saturday., ensuring a hands-on experiences for children. * Event Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee at least one program or event from inception through completion, demonstrating project management and leadership. * Enhance Visitor Experience: Collaboratively work with staff to create a positive and engaging visitor experience. Education First year, Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors. All Majors. Experience No experience required. Location This position is located off SU campus at the Lewisburg Children's Museum at 815 Market Street, Lewisburg, PA. Additional Requirements * This position is paid $11.00/hour with an estimated 10 hours weekly. * Must have regular transportation to and from the Lewisburg Children's Museum. LCM hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm.
