What will this position look like: * .4 FTE (16 hours/week) * Shift: Monday - Friday * Average 16 hours per week (two 8 hour shifts) - will primarily be afternoon into early evening out of town shifts. * No Weekends anticipated, one holiday every other year. * $15.40/hour minimum, eligible for higher pay with experience * Shift Differentials: PMs: $1.00, Nights: $2.00, Weekends: $1.50 * Location: West Salem CSC (start and end day) * Department: Transportation (division of Logistics) Schedule Example: * 12:30pm-9:00pm and 1:30pm-9:15pm are two of the shifts for this role. Job Description: The courier is responsible for proper and timely transport of laboratory, specimens, charts, mail, X-rays, secured medication product, supplies and other items to all Gundersen Health System Regional Clinics, affiliates, Outreach clients, and off campus office facilities. The courier represents Gundersen Health System to all external clients in a professional manner. Major Responsibilities: 1. Gathers and delivers laboratory specimens, reports, X-rays, secured medication product, charts, mail, supplies and other items, to the proper facility or client on the designated route. 2. Responsible for knowing at least two of the established courier routes. Able to perform multiple vehicle exits and re-entries. 3. Maintains all temperature sensitive materials at the temperature required, i.e., ambient, refrigerated, or frozen. Reports excursions of temperature outside of range to staff within the appropriate department to determine appropriate course of action. 4. Refuels automobile, records mileage, completes vehicle inspections and reports necessary maintenance as needed. Keeps the vehicle interior and exterior clean and prepared for the next driver. 5. Provides input and feedback regarding any/all client suggestions and concerns about laboratory/courier services to the Laboratory Management. Adheres to established routes and schedules as directed by Supply Chain management. 6. Obeys all traffic regulations and does not allow unauthorized persons to travel in the courier vehicle. 7. Attends monthly staff meetings and keeps current with updates and procedure changes posted by the Transportation Supervisor or Manager, Pharmacy Warehouse Distribution. 8. Behaves in a manner consistent with Gundersen Health System customer service program and wears uniform shirt while on the routes. 9. Work rotating on-call job schedule assignments as needed. 10. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance. 11. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or Manager, Pharmacy Warehouse Distribution.
