Position Title NM Center of Excellence of ECE Lab Site Programs Director Position Classification Staff Employment Type Full-Time Benefits Full Time Benefitted Department Early Childhood Program Summary Develops, plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates all programs to align with and ensure compliance with all state and national licensing and accreditation requirements and standards, and oversees the day-to-day academic, operational, and fiscal management of the NMCoEECE Lab Site Programs. Duties * Plans, develops, directs, supervises and evaluates the NMCoEECE Lab Site Programs, including but not limited to the Child Development Center, Growing Tree, Therapeutic classrooms, and School Age Program. Provides over-site and evaluation of the organizational structure and staffing of the Programs. * Evaluates the maintenance of quality programming to comply with the overall operation of university, state, and federal standards. Supports overall goals and mission of the University and College of Education. * Establishes and oversees the implementation of long and short-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for all NMCoEECE lab sites. * Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. * Works with the College of Education and Early Childhood Faculty to ensure the coordination, placement, and mentorship of Pre-service WNMU students within all NMCoEECE lab sites. * Collaborates with the NMCoEECE Leadership team to explore and implement new programs through collaborate partnerships, grants, and other funding sources. * Collaborates with NMCoEECE administrators to provide training and mentorship within the Programs to maintain qualifications and quality of staff within the programs. * Ensures compliance with the scope of work for current grants and contracts. * Promotes the NMCoEECE in print material and marketing products, as well as with website maintenance. Organizes and/or participates in promotional and informational events. * Collaborates with NMCoEECE Budget Manager, Business Affairs and Accounting. Interprets, monitors, and analyzes financial operations and transactions, forecast trends and provides reports and analyses for program. Prepares formal budget document, expense projections, and reports for programs' management, University, and state funding sources for approval of budget revisions and adjustments. * Conducts research and data analysis to make informed business decisions that align with program goals. * Works closely with University, local community members, leaders, and groups to discuss and identify needs for development and extension of programs. * Serves as the NMCoEECE spokesperson to promote the program in various local, state, and national public relations forums and groups. * Represents WNMU in the early childhood education field with state offices including but not limited to NM Early Childhood Education and Care Department. * Promotes the NMCoEECE in print material and marketing products, as well as with website maintenance. Organizes and/or participates in promotional and informational events. * Participates in University committees, program development, assessment, University service, and community service. * Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with WNMU personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Background Master's degree in Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field and 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education or similar field including responsibility for program development, budgeting and supervision of staff required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Job Knowledge Adheres to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment. Knowledge of the principles and practices of office management. Knowledge of applicable accrediting, licensing, regulatory requirements, standards, and reporting. Skill in communicating verbally and in writing. Skill in producing print, web, and marketing materials. Skill in scheduling and organizing events. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of community members, students, families, children, and staff. Skill in working in an environment subject to frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and use of judgment in the release of confidential information. Ability to supervise and train assigned staff. Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures and state and federal law application to the program. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications. Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations) Normal office and classroom environment. May be required to lift, push, and pull office equipment and materials. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory assess situations to insure health and safety. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Light maintenance such as shoveling, sweeping, mopping, throwing out trash, and others may be needed. May be required to work additional hours of days depending on circumstances. Other Requirements * Valid driver's license. * Certification in First Aid/CPR is required.
