Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Part time Job Type Temporary Compensation $15.00 an hour Job Description The Oklahoma Historical Society is seeking a part-time audio technician to digitize audio and oral history collections of the OHS. Duties Include: * Working with the Audio Archivist and the Archival Collections Manager to digitize at risk collections and formats * Digitizing patron orders * Working with legacy audio formats such as reel to reel, cassette tapes, and VHS. * Working with digitization software including Protools, audacity, and handbrake. * Listening to and creating descriptions for interviews and audio that do not have a synopsis or transcript * Completion of a report once a quarter based on work completed * Using excel to inventory and keep track of digitized files. * May involve cataloging on ArchivEra, the online catalog for the archives Qualifications/Requirements * Position requires experience with editing audio files and working knowledge of Protools and audacity is a plus. * Position requires that applicants be comfortable working independently and conducting research to work with legacy software and equipment * Position requires that applicants have experience working with computers including Microsoft Office, especially excel and Teams. * Experience with DACS or Dublin Core metadata is a plus * Experience using a 16-channel amp (MOTU) is a plus Education and Experience Highschool Diploma or GED Equal Opportunity Employment The State of Oklahoma is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of genetic information, race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.
