Job Title: Food & Nutrition Intern-Piper Center Job Classification: Business Operations, Student Department: Residential Dining Hiring Manager: Taylor Beard Contact: Taylor.Beard@compass-usa.com Work Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week between the hours of 6am-3pm Desired Length of Employment: Fall/ongoing Pay Rate: $12 Job Description: We are looking for a motivated student employee to help prepare meals and snacks for the children and staff at the Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development. Must be able to work independently, and prior cooking and/or foodservice experience is a must. This employee will work alongside the Chartwells Campus Dietitian and Chartwells foodservice employees. Nutrition/Dietetics, Foodservice Management, and Child and Family Studies Majors preferred. Job duties include: Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weighs and measures designated ingredients. Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures. Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils. Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor. Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. * Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility * Provide excellent customer service to clients * Ability to prioritize and take initiative * Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations * Ability to comply with University policies * Maintain regular and punctual attendance Employer: Baylor University Work Location: Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development
