Field Quality Assurance Intern 12 Week Assignment: Starting June 2nd, 2025 Location - Low Hybrid This is a hybrid role, which means that you will have the flexibility to work both onsite and at a distance. You will collaborate onsite at our Cashton, WI office for 3 days per week, and the rest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite. This position will be based in the Organic Valley CALF Building. Summary of Role The Field Quality Assurance Intern will be responsible for working with leadership in Quality Assurance, Production and Human Relations to support various Food Safety and Quality Programs through research, documentation, and coordination of Cooperative-wide programs. Primary Projects will include supporting Production facility staff and processing by researching and drafting documents and programs that will serve to improve compliance for Quality programs, Food Safety plans, Laboratory testing, and Standard operating procedures throughout the Cooperative and specific to each of the CROPP owned Processing facilities and Laboratories. Additional and related Projects will include, but are not limited to supporting business resiliency, development of new testing methods, and any other identified business need throughout the research process, and as applicable to Regulatory and Food Safety Requirements, or Quality Standards. This is a Safety Sensitive Role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities o Initiate discovery process and research site specific needs associated with Support of various Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory, and Production Programs o Report additional areas for improvement as identified through project work o Author written updates to QA Department & Plant Leadership o Schedule, lead and or/attend relevant meetings o Handles confidential information with discretion. Additional Duties and Responsibilities o Coordinate, develop, report, and document various Quality Assurance Programs o Work closely with other team members, across several departments and locations. o Provide assistance on related research projects as needed o Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required. o Currently working towards degree in a laboratory science or food technology. o Course work in biological science required o Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills. o Dairy and/or plant, and/or Food Safety experience strongly preferred. o Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. o Self-directed and willing to work on routine tasks o Ability to work individually and in a team environment. o Strong critical thinking and time management skills. o Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. o Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively. o Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred. Hourly wage: $18 per hour Internship Program Overview: * Program concludes after 12 weeks (first week of June start date) * Furnished housing provided or housing stipend * Engaging and project-based experiences with a leading organic food brand * Network and learn from our business leaders in a "Learn The Co-op Series" * Various intern group events held throughout the summer * Interns are paid hourly for time worked * Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work
