Job Summary Under general supervision, performs work in general administrative areas as well as backup facility maintenance. Supervise the operation of City facilities including security, repair maintenance, cleaning and renovation of facility systems and structures. Essential Job Functions and Other Important Duties * Work with the maintenance crew and other city departments to implement maintenance and repairs to assigned buildings. * Conduct periodic site inspections and report on maintenance needs and safety violations, to be included for budget purposes. * Manage and coordinate cleaning, construction, installation activities on assigned projects. * Calculate figures and compile data and information for reports, cost estimates, etc. * Prepare and maintain status reports on projects. * Write technical reports. Write daily, weekly or monthly reports. * Monitor project expenditures. * Fill in for Facility Maintenance Tech when needed. * Coordinate activities with other sections, departments and contractors. * Other related or unrelated duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Relatable Work Experience: N/A Training (Licenses(s) and/or Certification(s): Valid Class C Texas driver's license Preferred Qualifications: N/A Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is define as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed & Environmental Factors and Other Physical Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed: * Skill in utilizing a personal computer, associated software programs, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications. * Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. * Ability to establish and maintain professionally effective relationships with external public/vendors, internal management and non-management employees, and City and other government officials. * Ability to develop, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services for the City. * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong time and task management skills. * Ability to safely perform light maintenance activities involving painting, lighting fixtures, plumbing, etc. Environmental Factors and Other Physical Requirements: * Subject to sitting and standing to perform essential functions in an office and outdoor environment * Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate office equipment * Lifting up to 50 lbs. * Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. * Pushing and pulling - as required to operate related tools, equipment and machinery. * Climbing ladders. * Scheduled as determined by department needs * Regularly scheduled for 5-day, 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; overtime occasionally required.
